St. Paul’s instruction to St. Timothy reminds us of the traits necessary in those who would follow Jesus. Timothy payed close attention to Paul who so faithfully served Christ and preached the Good News. Paul also teaches us the importance of purpose, patience, love, perseverance, as well as to expect trials and persecution as we serve the Lord.
St. Paul also calls attention to the importance of knowing the Sacred Scriptures if we are going to be properly formed for the works of God.
My friends, the Church needs you and your gifts for this great mission of the Church that is ours today. Let us ask the Lord to form us in his Word that we might accomplish the works of God today!
