This Divine Mercy Sunday concludes the Octave of Easter.
The Risen Jesus lives! Do not persist in your unbelief, but believe that you may have life. We like St. Thomas, who was not present the first time the Risen Lord appeared to the apostles, have not seen the Risen Lord, but we believe. St. Peter recalls the same to mind:
Although you have not seen him you love him; even though you do not see him now yet believe in him, you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, as you attain the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Let us not be satisfied with the simple assurance that our sins are forgiven. Rather, let us strive to live the fulness of holiness and life the Risen Christ desires to live in and through us and through his Church!
