Today is a national holiday of Thanks-giving.
Wherever you are, and whoever you are with, I pray this day will be a blessing to you, and that you will find some time to call to mind the things for which you are thankful.
A helpful place to begin with such a reflection is with God, who is the creator of all things, the One from whom all blessings flow.
Faith is a good sense for reviewing one’s life – the full scope of one’s experience. Faith alone is something for which to be grateful. To believe in God, to believe in Jesus Christ, is a gift.
God created each of us, thus even the precious gift of life is a blessing in and of itself.
Family is among the highest treasures of this life.
The family of faith (the Church) is one more.
Freedom, health, and good friends,
Work and the ability to sustain one’s life and family,
The basics for life, not in excess,
even in trials, God’s love is manifest,
