In this time between Ascension and Pentecost, we do well to pray to the Holy Spirit for a deep knowledge of the work God the Father has entrusted to us.
Jesus speaks of the work the Father gave to him to accomplish.
St. Paul spoke regularly of the ministry entrusted to him by God to proclaim the Gospel of God’s grace.
St. Philip Neri whose feast we celebrate today also had a powerful experience of the Holy Spirit empowering him to serve the Lord in his people with great love.
