People came to believe in Jesus and identify him as the Christ because of his preaching.
How closely do we listen to Jesus? Jesus’ conviction in the absolute nature of God’s Kingdom gave him the courage to preach in the face of his own pending passion and death.
The kingdom of heaven is absolute, thus making all else relative. (see Evangelii Nuntiandi, On Evangelization in the Modern World, paragraph number 8, Pope Paul VI) Our belief in Jesus and the absolute nature of God’s Kingdom leads to conversion of life.
