Happy Ascension Sunday! May the grace of this day in the life of the Risen Lord, Jesus fill each of us as members of his body, the Church.
The Church exists in each of her members. Each of us are those who carry on the great commission Jesus gave the apostles:
All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. (Matthew 28:16-20)
Jesus came into the world to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven and conversion of life.
Jesus sends his disciples into the world to proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven to to baptize all nations.
May we live in the world as members of the body of Christ, that is the Church. May we live in the world as witnesses to Jesus and the power of his resurrection.
