During today’s general audience in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Francis spoke spontaneously about the importance to clear the clutter of our hearts during this Holy Week. He gives the comparison of regularly cleaning out our closets and giving away to the poor the things we no longer need or use. Similarly, there are useless things in our hearts we need to clear away to return to a simple and true relationship with Jesus.
