Today we celebrated another Catholic Schools Mass with help from students at Holy Names Academy.

Our readings  on the feast of St. Leo the Great give us at least two titles. Imagine beginning each day mindful of the reality that each of us is a child of God… This would certainly help point us in the right direction. St. Paul in his instruction to St. Titus lists the characteristics that should define us as we strive to live as God’s children; humility, self-control, faithful to doctrine, chaste, loving.

Jesus gives us another title which may not be as comfortable, but is at the heart of our identity and relationship in him; servant. Loving, selfless service is at the heart of our life as followers of Jesus.
