The Easter Octave continues today with Mary Magdalene being the first one to whom the Risen Jesus reveals himself.
Mary went in love to the empty tomb seeking the Lord. When he appears to her, at first she does not recognize him. He tells her not to cling to him, for he has not yet returned to the Father.
He gives her ‘the work of an apostle’ in sending her to proclaim his resurrection to the others. This is the mission of all the baptized, because it is the mission of the Church.
May we recognize and proclaim the Risen Lord today and every day!
