As my staff will tell anyone, I’ve enjoyed a fair amount of free time this past month (or so). Even though I’ve done a lot of reading and “thinking”, there has also been time to relax, visit family and travel with some friends.

This past week some friends came out to visit, and we enjoyed the Championship Rodeo on Sunday to close this year’s Cheyenne Frontier Days.  Then, we travelled to the Grand Teton National Park just north of Jackson, Wyoming.  We enjoyed a day of fly fishing on the Snake River with world renowned fly fisherman, Jack Dennis.

It was truly a learning experience, as well as a lot of fun and a marvelous way to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.  We road horses and enjoyed each other’s company over some great food.

Thursday, we road into the park to find the Sacred Heart Chapel and celebrate Mass.  This is a lovely chapel, in a beautiful setting on Lake Jackson.  Below are a few pictures of the chapel and Blessed Mother Statue, courtesy of Gerri Flanagan.

Now, it is back to work!
