As I celebrated Mass today for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, and prayed the words of consecration during this Year of the Eucharist, I was moved to understand that the grace which provided for Mary’s Immaculate Conception is the same grace we receive through each Eucharist; the unique grace accomplished by the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The grace which allowed Mary to be conceived without sin we receive that we may lead holy lives according to the will of God.

Dear friends, please take time today to pray with and listen to God’s Word which is proclaimed at Mass today. This is the Word which through Mary took our human flesh to dwell among us. This is the Word that came to earth as the full revelation of God to all of humanity. This is the Word who accomplished our redemption and salvation. Jesus is the Word who continues to accomplish God’s will in our world today – namely, to be in relationship with you and me.

As attending Mass is so difficult in this time of pandemic, I invite you to at least participate through prayerfully viewing the video of today’s Mass below.

Mary, conceived without sin, Pray for us! Amen.
