Today’s readings give us pause to question the depth of our faith in Jesus…
The first reading for each of our Masses this week comes from the Prophet Isaiah, and are meant to clearly demonstrate how Jesus is the fulfillment of the prophecies of Isaiah. God is true to his word!
Jesus in today’s Gospel asks the two men who come to him for healing: “Do you believe I can do this?”
What is the depth of our faith in Jesus? Do we believe in God? Do we present our needs to Jesus in prayer, and then go on about our day dealing with all that we prayed about as if only we have the power to address our concerns?
Jesus is our life and our salvation. None of us can bring our self to life. No one can achieve their own salvation. Each of these depend on God through Jesus Christ.
We ask to be strengthened in our faith in Jesus Christ, who is our Life and our Salvation!
Peace, and blessed Advent.
